ATLANTA - What are the ethical implications of climate change? What can people do to confront and solve this mounting challenge? How can we better care for God's Creation? More than 250 students, faculty and staff from Mercer University will be looking for answers to those questions when they gather at a conference, titled "Caring for Creation: Ethical Responses to Climate Change," on Feb. 27 and 28 on the University's Atlanta campus.
ATLANTA/MACON - Mercer University's Executive Forum, presented by BB&T, will feature Stephen Moore of The Wall Street Journal editorial board, Thursday, Feb. 17, in Atlanta and Macon. He will give a lunch presentation at the Capital City Club at 12:30 p.m. and a dinner presentation at 6:30 p.m. in the Presidents Dining Room of the University Center on Mercer's Macon campus.
CNBC senior analyst and financial industry expert Ron Insana will address Mercer University's Executive Forum on March 23. Insana will give a lunch presentation at the Capital City Club, 7 Harris St., Atlanta, at noon and a dinner presentation at 6:30 p.m. in Macon at the University Center. Insana's presentation is titled "Now What? Managing Money through the Economic Storm."
MACON - Mercer University's Fall Chapel services on the Macon campus will have a special emphasis this year in support of the new Universitywide Lyceum program and Mercer's participation in President Obama's national Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge.

Atlanta--Vijaya Subrahmanyam, associate professor of finance at the Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics of Mercer University, was recently nominated a director for the League of Women Voters of Atlanta/Fulton County.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.Subrahmanyam said as a trained economist and educator with a strong interest and consulting background in public policy, she will strive to help educate the public about the democratic process.
"If I can in any way mobilize people, particularly women and minorities, to vote and make them realize that their vote matters, I think I may have made a difference," she said.

MACON - Mercer University's Townsend School of Music will present more than 65 concerts for its 2011-12 season, including a yearlong concert series featuring national artists celebrating the 10th anniversary of the McCorkle Music Building. ATLANTA - Mercer University will offer a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) preparation course from 5:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursdays from Sept. 20 - Oct. 25. Offered on the University's Cecil B. Day Atlanta Campus, this six-week course is designed to help individuals score their best on the GRE and get them one step closer to graduate school.
