What are your plans after graduation?
Move wherever a job takes me!
Who was your favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor, and I have a handful to choose from, is Adjunct Professor Krista Massey. Her class was always my favorite to go to because she lectures so well. She used the textbook as more of an outline and taught based off her real-world experience, which she had plenty of. Professor Massey definitely played a vital role in what I wanted to major in and what I’m looking for in a job after graduation.
What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?
One my favorite Mercer memories is working summer orientation as a peer adviser in 2019! It was one of the last big things we were able to do (normally) before being sent home because of COVID-19. I love working with everyone on the peer adviser team, and showing prospective students and families around campus is always a fun time.
What was your favorite class and why?
One of my favorite classes was Understanding Rock ‘n’ Roll. I love music in general, so being able to take a class about the history of most music and have it satisfy my art requirement was super cool. Dr. Nathan Myrick taught the course, and he was just a great professor all around — very passionate about the topic, knowledgeable about all the material and a musician himself.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
My advice would be to enjoy every second because as cliche as it sounds, it goes by in a blink! Also, get involved in as much as possible, so you can broaden your horizons during a key developmental time in your life. Mercer has so much to offer in terms of clubs and other extracurriculars, so put yourself out there and get involved! You never know what you might end up falling in love with.
