Madison Adams is graduating from Mercer University’s School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine.

What are your plans after graduation?

Complete a residency in family medicine at Atrium Health Navicent.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Dr. John Henderson was my favorite professor because of the way that he combined clinical practice with book knowledge and clearly cared about each student beyond having them in class. He was an awesome example of what it looks like to be a Christ-like physician and be the hands and feet of Jesus without having to speak a word.

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

Getting my white coat was one of the most special and significant moments in my medical education. It really set in for the first time that I would have the privilege and responsibility of serving people through medicine.

What was your favorite class and why?

My favorite class was cardiology! I could see so much how God has uniquely created each person and done so with so much precision and creativity.

How do you plan on changing the world?

I want to positively impact my patients through comprehensive, understanding care that works to make sure they are an active part of their care. I hope to make patients feel seen and heard and to advocate for them daily.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

Soak up every bit that you can because you’ll certainly use it!
