Tishanna Bautista recently graduated from Mercer University’s School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in human resource management.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan on obtaining my master’s degree in organizational leadership in the fall.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

I’ve had great professors during my time but I would say that Dr. Juanita Forrester was my favorite. The assignments did not feel stressful as they felt like I could relate to them with my daily life. She was engaged and responded to any questions that we may have had almost immediately.

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

Since I was an online student, I didn’t have a chance to step foot on campus until I took my graduation pictures. I loved how beautiful the campus was, how nice the staff was and just the atmosphere of the campus.

What was your favorite class and why?

My favorite class was organizational behavior. The professor was very engaged, and the teaching method brought a different perspective to how I viewed different situations.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

The professors are here to help you not hinder you. Don’t be afraid to ask for understanding as they are always willing to help you strive for the best.

What makes Mercer special to you?

Mercer helped me transition from the military life to the civilian life. Mercer helped me accomplish a goal that I set years ago, which was to receive my bachelor’s degree. I’ll always thank Mercer for their acceptance and the support that they’ve given me to achieve my dream.
