MACON, Ga. — Mercer University’s graphic design students won nine 2025 American Graphic Design Awards from Graphic Design USA, making Mercer a winning design program for five years running.
From more than 6,000 entries, only the top 10% were recognized as winners.
“Our students’ talent and dedication continue to shine on a national stage, earning an impressive nine GD USA 2025 Graphic Design Awards,” said Tennille Shuster, art and design chair and professor. “This recognition celebrates their exceptional creativity and the strength of our design program.”
The awards honor outstanding work across all media — including design firms, creative agencies, in-house designers, freelancers, schools and students, government and institutions, and more.
Mercer’s graphic design program 2025 GDUSA winners are:
- William Dietrich (‘25), Gracen Bohling (‘25), Alexis Taylor (‘25), Abby Milam (‘25) — OneMacon Brand Manual
- William Dietrich — OneMacon Stationery System
- Caroline Wood (‘27) — Social Issue Typeface Design and Newspaper Layout and Repackaging for Sustainability

- Eryn Chenault (‘27) — Exhibition Brochure

“Sometimes it can be hard to know if you’re growing as an artist since graphic design is so subjective. So being recognized by GDUSA is incredibly exciting,” said junior Caroline Wood. “I wouldn’t be where I am as a designer without feedback from my peers and professors. Design really is at its best when you can collaborate with others, and Mercer’s graphic design program does a great job of encouraging that.”
