MACON – Mercer University has set a new opening day fall enrollment record of 9,082, up 1.5% from last fall’s comparable number.

Final fall enrollment figures, which increase from opening day, will be released in early November, after programs that have two fall sessions have completed registration.

Key contributors to the enrollment growth were increases in the University’s law and medical schools, as well as graduate programs in education.

“The University’s record enrollment this fall is a team effort led by professional staff who believe in forwarding Mercer’s mission through the remarkable students who choose to join an environment of academically talented and service-minded Mercerians,” said Mercer President William D. Underwood.
