Award Winning ‘Ragtime’ Comes to the Grand

311

The Grand Opera House is pleased to present Ragtime The Musical as its final program for the 2001-2002 Broadway Series on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4, 2002.

One of the most beloved and admired novels of modern times, E.L. Doctorow’s Ragtime, comes to vibrant musical life in this production of American life at the turn of the 20th century.

Ragtime is a panoramic portrait of three remarkable families: one upper-middle class, white Anglo-Saxon Protestant, one Harlem black and one socialist Jewish. As they embark on personal voyages of self-discovery, their lives become dramatically intertwined with one another as well as with real-life historical characters including Harry Houdini, J.P. Morgan, Booker T. Washington and Henry Ford.

Sponsored by Riverside Ford, the performances will be on Friday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available for $35. For additional information, please contact the Box Office at (478) 301-5470.
