The Mercer Center for Community Development is accepting nominations for the Neighborhood Advocates Fellowship Program.

The purpose of the Neighborhood Advocates Fellowship Program is to provide individuals who live, work or worship in the Central South community of Macon with the appropriate leadership training to support neighborhood initiatives.

The fellowship program is a year-long, leadership-training program supported by grants from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The continuum of leadership training will focus on neighborhood revitalization, educational improvements, housing opportunities, community organizing, and community health planning. The training sessions will be held on the evenings and weekends. A fellowship stipend, a personal computer, and the opportunity to learn and to serve the community are among the many benefits of the fellowship program.

Nomination and application materials may be obtained by contacting Maria Arvelo, Program Manager of the Mercer Center for Community Development at (478) 301-5370. The deadline for nomination and application materials is April 25.
