Mercer Music at Capricorn will repeat its popular Introduction to Studio Recording certificate course this fall. It will be offered over four consecutive Saturdays, beginning Sept. 6, at the historic Capricorn Sound Studios in downtown Macon. Rob Evans, chief engineer at Capricorn, will be the lead instructor, assisted by Capricorn house musicians.
This certificate course, which was initially offered in 2023 and sold out well before the first session, will introduce participants to the fundamentals of modern audio recording in a professional studio environment. Designed for beginners, the class covers both hardware and software workflows with a focus on Pro Tools, industry-standard recording equipment, and microphone techniques.
The course fee is $795, but an early-bird rate of $695 is available to those who register by Aug. 1. Current Mercer students, faculty and staff qualify for a 30% discount off the $795 fee. To register, or to get additional details, visit capricorn.mercer.edu/studio-recording-certificate-course.
