Press Sets 15th Annual Authors Luncheon Nov. 13

WHAT:           Mercer University Press will hold its 15th annual Authors Luncheon, with 13 authors signing books – five of whom will talk about their latest books.

WHO:             Authors speaking: Frederick Allen (A Decent, Orderly Lynching), Ron Chernow (Alexander Hamilton), Hollis Gillespie (Tales from a Bad Neighborhood), Terry Kay (The Valley of Light) and Michael Thurmond (FreedomAuthors signing books:  David Bottoms (Waltzing Through the End Time), Steve Berry (The Romanov Prophecy), James Cook (Carl Vinson – Patriarch of the Armed Forces), Lucy Corin (Everyday Psychokillers), Louise Dodd (Eating from the White House to the Jailhouse), Buck Melton Sr. (Closing Arguments), William Rawlings Jr. (The Rutherford Cipher), and Haywood Smith (The Red Hat Club).

WHEN:           Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004

10:30 a.m. – book signing • 11:45 a.m. – lunch and authors presentation

WHERE:        Westin Buckhead Hotel (formerly the Swisshotel), 3391 Peachtree Road in Atlanta, next to Lenox Square mall.

A portion of the ticket price is tax deductible.

BENEFITS:    Proceeds of the event benefit Mercer University Press (MUP), which is celebrating its 25th year of publishing. Having published more than 1,000 books since 1979, MUP currently publishes more than 40 books annually. MUP is a member of The Association of American University Presses, which recognizes excellence in scholarly publishing.
