Sen. Chambliss To Speak at Macon Executive Forum

MACON — United States Sen. Saxby Chambliss, one of the Capitol Hill’s most influential lawmakers, will offer “A View from Washington” at Mercer University’s Executive Forum lunch program at 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, at The University Center, Mercer University, Macon.

Sen. Chambliss, R-Georgia, has spent more than a decade in Washington, D.C., representing the interests and concerns of Georgians. With a well-earned reputation as an expert on defense, intelligence, and agricultural issues, he has become a leading voice on Capitol Hill. 

Prior to his election to the Senate, Chambliss served four terms in the U.S. House of Representatives (1995-2003). In January 2005, Senator Chambliss was unanimously elected to serve as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, the first senator since 1947 to chair a full-standing Senate Committee after serving in the Senate for only two years.

Senator Chambliss also serves as a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Rules Committee.  

Now in its 26th year, The Executive Forum is a business outreach program of Mercer University’s Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics and the Office of Advancement. The Executive Forum provides business professionals with an opportunity to hear nationally noted speakers while networking with other business leaders.
