ATLANTA — Mercer University is offering adults a chance to get a head start on their 2007 New Year’s resolution to advance their career. On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the University will hold an Education Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Trustees Dining Room on Mercer’s Atlanta Campus, 3001 Mercer University, just inside the northeast perimeter. Individuals interested in earning an undergraduate, graduate or professional degree will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from six of the University’s 11 schools and colleges.

The University offers 18 degree programs through the colleges and schools in the Atlanta area, including as pharmacy, nursing, business, education, theology, information systems, human services, community counseling, organization leadership, public safety leadership, to name just a few.

Mercer’s College of Continuing and Professional Studies will be offering two new programs to the Atlanta campus in January. For mid-career adults who already have two years of college credit and are seeking leadership roles and career advancement in private or public sector organizations, the College has a Bachelor of Science in Organization Leadership degree, which can be completed in 16 months. The College’s newest master’s program is designed for public safety professionals. The Master of Science in Public Safety Leadership is a cutting-edge program designed to augment all public safety disciplines.

The Tift College of Education offers a number of professional education options on the Atlanta Campus, including a new program that debuted this fall: a Master of Arts in Teaching program for those with bachelor’s degrees in other fields who are seeking to become teachers as well as earning a master’s degree. The program offers certification in elementary, middle, or secondary education and allows graduates to enter the education profession at a master’s pay scale. The College introduced its Ph.D. in Educational Leadership on the Atlanta campus this fall.

The doctor of pharmacy degree, a highly sought degree in today’s marketplace, is offered through the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.  The School will introduce a Master of Medical Science program in spring 2008 for physician’s assistants.

Other schools represented at the fair will be Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, the McAfee School of Theology and the Stetson School of Business and Economics.
