MACON – In preparation for the return of football in the fall of 2013, Mercer University announced Tuesday that season tickets will be available for the first time to the general public beginning on Thursday, August 16.

Ticket prices are set at $75 per seat in the “White Section” (between the 35-yard markers) and $50 per seat for the “Orange Sections” (between the end zones and the 35-yard markers) in the west stands. Each $75 or $50 season ticket will provide admission to all eight home games, including Homecoming, in 2013.

“This is an exciting time for Mercer Athletics and the Mercer football program,” Director of Athletics Jim Cole said. “We are happy to offer this opportunity to the general public and thrilled with the support we have received so far from our alumni and donors.”

The reservation period begins Aug. 16 and runs until Sept. 17.

“We are excited to be at the point where we are selling season tickets,” head coach Bobby Lamb said. “This is another landmark step in the development of the program and an opportunity for the community to begin to rally around the team.”

Season ticket reservations are limited, and purchase date will be factored into final seat assignments. Fans are encouraged to purchase soon to ensure availability.

Other criteria on which final seating arrangements will be made in the spring of 2013 include final stadium configuration, lifetime giving to the university, and membership in the Mercer Athletic Foundation. Opportunities to purchase parking passes and lease field house suites on game day will be available in the near future.

Fans can make their season ticket reservations by either going online at Mercer.edu/football/tickets or by calling Mercer Ticket Sales at (800) 637-2378 ext. 5470 or (478) 301-5470.
