Mercer is looking forward to claiming its sixth win in a row when the Bears take on the Virginia Military Institute Keydets on Saturday, Oct. 25. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. at Five Star Stadium. Here are three things to know before you go.

Mercer is ranked No. 14 and No. 17 in the Football Championship Subdivision, according to the American Football Coaches Association and Stats Perform Top 25 polls, respectively. A win against Southern Conference foe VMI this week will make the Bears the top team in the conference. Mercer (5-1, 4-0 SoCon) currently is tied for first with Western Carolina, which is on a bye week.
