The Bears will be eager to get their first win when they take on the Wofford Terriers on Saturday, Sept. 13, in Macon. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. in Five Star Stadium. Here are three things to know before you go.

History is on Mercer’s side

Mercer has won 10 of the 17 matchups against Wofford since 1915, and the Bears haven’t lost to the Terriers since 2020. Last year, Mercer beat the Terriers 22-3 at Wofford.

Ying Yang Twins headline game day concert

Pre-game festivities start on Black Field at 11 a.m., culminating at 3:45 p.m. with a performance from the Ying Yang Twins, a hip-hop duo known for their collaborations with Lil Jon and Britney Spears. Leading up to the show, fans can enjoy the Fall Line beer garden and Dr Pepper Fansville, featuring inflatables for kids, both of which open at noon. The Ford Football Concert Series kicks off with country musicians Charly Renolds and David J, who will perform at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. Music will break at 3:30 p.m. for the Bear Walk before the Ying Yang Twins take the stage. Gates to Five Star Stadium open at 5 p.m. 

It’s Hometown Heroes Night

Mercer will honor first responders, including police, fire and emergency medical personnel, on Saturday as part of Hometown Heroes Night. From 3:45 p.m. to kickoff, fans can interact with first responders at Toby and Tot’s Hero Hangout Hometown Hero Car Show, located in the Butler Family Plaza at the entrance to Five Star Stadium. The car show will feature vehicles from the Georgia State Patrol, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Public Safety Training Center and more.
