Shawna Dooley is associate vice president for advancement at Mercer, but she’s also a lover of all things related to classic country music. In the second video for our “Beyond the Bear” YouTube series, learn about the “Down Every Road” radio show that she has hosted for The Creek 100.9 FM in Macon since 2016.

Dooley attended Mercer University as a Presidential Scholar and graduated with a B.A. in English, with minors in history and Christianity, from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She then earned a M.A. in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi, where she focused some of her research and writing on country music. Shawna began in Mercer’s Advancement Office in 2002 and has had a variety of duties including supervising Phonathon, planning special events, fundraising for one of Mercer‘s academic units, serving as fundraising liaison for the University Library, writing grants and proposals, and executing scholarship and endowed fund agreements.
