ATLANTA – Get ready to mix, explore and experiment. Mercer University’s Atlanta-based health sciences colleges invite visitors to roll up their sleeves and dive into the fun at the inaugural Mercer Science Spectacular on Thursday, March 13, from 4-8 p.m.

Held in conjunction with the Atlanta Science Festival, the interactive event brings Mercer’s College of Pharmacy, College of Health Professions and College of Nursing together for an evening packed with discovery. Families will follow a scavenger hunt-style adventure, stopping at engaging science stations where kids (and adults) can explore, experiment and experience hands-on activities designed to make science come alive.

Participants will:

• Get their hands dirty with gooey pharmacy experiments

• Discover how their body moves with exercise science activities

• Dive into interactive nursing fun and games

• Meet Toby, the Mercer Bear mascot, for photos and high-fives

• And more!

“This is a fantastic way to experience Mercer’s beautiful Atlanta campus while getting a firsthand look at the exciting work happening in our Health Sciences colleges,” said Aaron Williams, director of communications and marketing for the College of Pharmacy.

Science isn’t the only thing on the menu—visitors can grab a bite from the Ponko Chicken food truck, let the kids burn off energy in the bounce houses, and for the grown-ups, enjoy beer and wine while you explore.

Where: Mercer’s Lower Quad (between the Nursing and Pharmacy schools)

Parking: Free in the West Parking Lot

Rain Plan: If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the fun moves inside to Sheffield Hall.
