Addison Robinson recently graduated from Mercer University’s School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree.
What are your plans after graduation?
Working at a defense firm in midtown Atlanta doing workers’ compensation.
Who was your favorite professor and why?
My favorite law school professor was Winfield Murray, a federal judge in Atlanta. Professor Murray teaches classes at a prison in Monroe County, and I had the opportunity to join him. It was a life-changing experience and ignited my passion to ensure service is intricately intertwined in my career.
What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?
My favorite Mercer memory is hard. As a Triple Bear, I’ve had many unforgettable experiences throughout my time at Mercer. I’d say the memories made with people who are now my best friends have to be my favorite.
What was your favorite class and why?
My favorite class was torts and remedies. It’s not surprising that I’m joining a civil litigation firm where I’ll be doing workers’ compensation.
How do you plan on changing the world?
I plan on changing the world by exposing people to kindness and authenticity in every interaction. Helping people feel confident in themselves despite their struggles. Helping them realize their strengths and encouraging them to be leaders.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
Find your people and remember your why.
How did Mercer prepare you for your future?
Mercer sharpened my research, professionalism and networking skills. The Mercer alumni family is huge and represents every part of the world. I feel confident that I’ll always run into a fellow Mercer Bear.
What makes Mercer special to you?
Mercer is special to me because I spent some of the most important years of my life here. From 2016-2025, I obtained my bachelor’s, masters and law degrees. I believe I became a woman here. I developed so many special relationships with my professors, peers and the Macon community. Mercer will always have a special place in my heart.
