Cailey Martinez graduated from Mercer University’s School of Music with a Bachelor of Music Education.

What are your plans after graduation?

To attend the University of Kentucky, pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Performance with a graduate certificate in vocal pedagogy as an Alltech Scholar and opera graduate assistant!

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

Playing the oboe with the Middle Georgia Choral Society for their annual Messiah performances, along with concerts for the Mercer Singers and Wind Ensemble.

How do you plan on changing the world?

By exhibiting kindness no matter what faces me and showing the world that music has power and is meant to show the beauty in the world and in humanity.

How did Mercer prepare you for your future?

My coursework gave me such a strong foundational understanding of my field, and my field placement experiences threw me into the real world!

What makes Mercer special to you?

This place is such a home. I always know that I have someone here cheering me on and supporting me in ways beyond belief.
