What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to attend Mercer School of Medicine starting in the fall!

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Dr. Joshua Rodefer. He was my mentor and poured into me so much throughout my undergraduate career. I would not be where I am without his help.

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

I loved tailgating before football games and cheering on the Bears in the student section every Saturday. My favorite specific memory was one day when Dr. Penny Elkins stopped in the middle of her day to have an hour-long conversation with me about life, faith and Mercer. It was so insightful and made me feel loved and seen on this campus.

What was your favorite class and why?

I loved neurobiology. It was so interesting, and I learned so much that will be relevant for my future career.

How do you plan on changing the world?

I want to work in rural medicine and provide accessible and affordable health care to Georgians

What advice do you have for incoming students?

Say yes, take chances, find your people and soak up every single moment! But don’t forget about your grades along the way.

How did Mercer prepare you for your future?

It challenged me, taught me perseverance and how to have thick skin, and it gave me my support system and the people who I will lean on forever.

What makes Mercer special to you?

Mercer is a community, and I can never walk somewhere on campus without seeing someone I know. I love being part of this family, and it truly feels like home.
