Olivia Harris is graduating from Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to work as a medical lab tech.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Dr. Craig Byron was my favorite professor. He made all of the classes I had with him enjoyable, even when I didn’t anticipate that they would be. He was stern and made his expectations clear from the beginning but was still always very kind and accommodating.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

Take advantage of every single opportunity and resource available. I feel like I missed out on things because I was too afraid of rejection.

How did Mercer prepare you for your future?

It gave me new knowledge in the form of my degrees, of course, but it also taught me what I truly want out of life and how to achieve it.

What makes Mercer special to you?

Mercer gave me lifelong friends and memories I could never forget.
