Reese Robertson recently graduated from Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology.
What are your plans after graduation?
Attend Berry College to pursue my master’s in physician associate studies!
Who was your favorite professor and why?
Dr. Garland Crawford! He really encouraged my growth and interest in biochemistry in biochemistry 1 and 2 my junior year. He also really just cared about all of us as people and wanted us to succeed.
What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?
Being a peer advisor! I would do anything to be a PA one more time at Mercer. It was really my favorite experience and allowed me to make so many new memories and friends because of it.
What was your favorite class and why?
Biochemistry 2! It was one of the most engaging courses, and applying so much of what I had learned from the previous 2 1/2 years of education and blending it with case studies to learn about the human body was super interesting to me.
How do you plan on changing the world?
I plan on serving rural Georgia as a certified physician assistant one day! If it were not for Mercer and the experiences that I had, I would have never expected myself to become a physician assistant, let alone learn about the lack of medical care in rural Georgia.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
Be yourself! Don’t be afraid to take chances on new opportunities. You can be a leader in so many ways at Mercer. Also, your professors are more than just educators. They want to see you thrive as a student and as a person at Mercer.
What makes Mercer special to you?
The people! The community at Mercer is unlike anything I had ever experienced prior to college, and I am so thankful to be a Bear.
