Sara Davila Severiano, a Class of 2023 graduate of Mercer University‘s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology.

What are your plans after graduation?

I will be starting my Ph.D. in chemistry at Georgia Tech.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Dr. David Goode, associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, is my favorite professor. He is always there when you need him. He is always willing to talk not just about school but any other things that you are struggling with.

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

All the football games, especially when we went to Auburn!

What was your favorite class and why?

My favorite class was biochemistry II because it was the first time that I saw everything I had learned in physics, biology, chemistry and psychology come together.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

Take classes outside your major. You may end up minoring in something completely different.

What makes Mercer special to you?

It is a place that has given me such a beautiful community. It is the space where I have grown the most.
