It takes a lot of people to make Mercer University the institution that it is. The students have and always will be the lifeblood of our University, but Mercer wouldn’t be Mercer without expert faculty members to pass on their knowledge and highly-skilled staff members to manage day-to-day operations. Our “Worker Bears” series highlights the Mercer employees who work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to care for our University and our students.

Meet Jasmine Coney

Title: Custodian with National Management Resources for the Atlanta campus

How long she’s worked at Mercer: Six years

What she does: Coney cleans the classrooms, bathrooms, offices and hallways in the Business and Education building on the Atlanta campus.

What she loves most about her work: Coney said she loves the people she encounters during her job. She really likes the flexibility that her job allows and appreciates the support of her supervisor, Daniel Hoppe. She has opted to work a night shift from midnight to 8:30 a.m. since COVID-19 began. With three children, she wanted to be extra cautious by limiting her exposure to others.
