Mercer football continues to climb in coaches poll, rising to No. 11

Mercer received a No. 11 ranking in the American Football Coaches Association Football Championship Subdivision Coaches Poll following its 49-6 win over Western Carolina.

The Bears were previously ranked No. 12 going into the Sept. 8 game against the Catamounts.

Mercer is one of three teams from the Southern Conference ranked in the poll. Chattanooga is ranked No. 9 and Samford is ranked No. 15.

Next up, the Bears will welcome ETSU to Five Star Stadium on Oct. 15. The Buccaneers defeated VMI 44-21 on Oct. 8.
