MACON — Mercer Ticket Sales (MTS), the regional ticket hub for Mercer University arts and athletics events, as well as community events in Middle Georgia, has transitioned to a new online ticket transaction platform called Tixr. The new partnership between MTS and Tixr will make it even easier for patrons to access and enjoy Mercer’s slate of events across concerts, musicals and other arts productions at Mercer, in addition to athletic events — all within one cohesive system. Ticket buyers can access dedicated pages for athletics and arts events available for purchase at tickets.mercer.edu.

MTS is the ticket provider for Mercer Bears games, all events at The Grand Opera House and ticketed performances for Townsend School of Music and Mercer Theatre. MTS also provides ticketing services for community events like Macon Film Festival, Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra and Soul Jam, allowing outside organizations to utilize full box office services for their event needs.

Some upgraded features that MTS patrons will notice on the new platform include a more intuitive seat map, better mobile integration and the ability to link tickets to their Apple or Google wallets.

“The new platform provides a smooth experience from when you first purchase the ticket to when you leave the venue after the event. It’s much easier to manage your tickets,” said Chas Pridgen, Mercer’s director of patron services.

Patrons with a current MTS account should use the log in button in the top right corner and create a new account on the Tixr platform using the same email address from their previous MTS account. Current season ticket holders to Mercer football, Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra and The Grand Opera House Broadway Series have received an email notice from Tixr (no-reply@tixr.com) with instructions on how to renew on the new platform. Please call the box office at (478) 301-5470 with any questions or concerns about renewal.

If a patron already purchased a ticket for an upcoming event prior to this summer, the tickets should automatically show up in the new account if it is created using the same email address as the previous MTS account. Patrons who did not previously purchase their tickets online should call or visit the box office with any questions.

Patrons who want more information about using the Tixr platform can access instructional videos here. The videos use screenshots to show how you can purchase a ticket from your device.

Tixr is the world’s fastest-growing privately held primary ticketing and event commerce marketplace. Tixr exclusively powers more than 500 of the most respected live entertainment brands in 40 countries, including LIV Golf, Wynn Nightlife, Riot Fest, Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Riot Games Arena, Playa Luna Presents, Sturgis Buffalo Chip, Lightning in a Bottle, Portland Trail Blazers’ New G League Affiliate Rip City Remix and many others.

“Like most modern higher learning institutions, these incredible events produced by Mercer University provide an important touchpoint for students, faculty and alumni,” said Chase Bloch, partnerships executive at Tixr. “This new upgrade not only provides Mercer events’ attendees with a seamless, easy-to-use experience but also enables Mercer University to show off their school colors in a modern and innovative way that truly represents the Bears brand.”

Patrons who do not wish to purchase tickets online can purchase them over the phone at (478) 301-5470 or at the in-person box offices located at the University Center and The Grand Opera House. Box office hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for the academic year at The Grand and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on campus.
