Dr. Susan W. Miller, professor of pharmacy practice, has been named the 2025 Faculty Member of the Year by the Georgia Pharmacy Association. The award, presented during the association’s annual convention in June, honors faculty who demonstrate outstanding leadership, mentorship and dedication to student pharmacists. Dr. Miller is the second Mercer University faculty member in as many years to receive the honor, following Dr. Christine Klein’s recognition in 2024.
“I am grateful to the members of the Georgia Pharmacy Association for selecting me for this recognition because the association represents pharmacists and students from all practice settings throughout the state of Georgia. It is both humbling and rewarding to be named the Georgia Pharmacy Association’s 2025 Faculty Member of the Year,” said Dr. Miller.
With over four decades of teaching at the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Miller has had a profound impact on the academic and professional development of student pharmacists. She is widely respected for her commitment to excellence in education.
“This is a tremendous and well-deserved honor that recognizes Dr. Miller’s outstanding contributions to pharmacy education, her dedication to student success, and her impactful service to the profession,” said Dr. Pamela Moye, interim dean of the College of Pharmacy. “Her commitment to excellence continues to elevate our college and inspire our community.”
Dr. Miller earned her pre-pharmacy credits at Mercer’s Macon campus before completing both her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (1979) and Doctor of Pharmacy (1983) at Mercer’s Southern School of Pharmacy in Atlanta. She is a board certified geriatric pharmacist and a fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
