Third-year student Nigel Phiri won second place in The Expert Institute's Legal Blog Post Writing Contest this January. Students were asked to submit a 1,000 to 2,500 word blog-style article on the use of expert witnesses in litigation. Phiri's entry, Follow The Money: The Integrity of The Career Expert Witness, addresses the reliability of expert witnesses and argues that court-appointed expert consultants should evaluate the admissibility of privately retained experts before trials begin.
