Third-year student Nigel Phiri won second place in The Expert Institute's Legal Blog Post Writing Contest this January. Students were asked to submit a 1,000 to 2,500 word blog-style article on the use of expert witnesses in litigation. Phiri's entry, Follow The Money: The Integrity of The Career Expert Witness, addresses the reliability of expert witnesses and argues that court-appointed expert consultants should evaluate the admissibility of privately retained experts before trials begin. “Nigel is an excellent student with solid writing skills,” said Professor Teri McMurtry-Chubb. “His entry and win align perfectly with his goals to earn an MBA and speak the language of business so that he can best serve his future clients.”

The Expert Institute matches executives, senior managers, operational and product experts, scientists, doctors, and other professionals across all industries with lawyers seeking expert witnesses.
