Towery to Kick Off 2014-2015 Executive Forum with State Election Preview

ATLANTA/MACON – Mercer University will open its 2014-2015 Executive Forum, presented by BB&T, with Matt Towery, publisher and CEO of InsiderAdvantage and managing director of governmental affairs at Hall Booth Smith, on Oct. 2.

Towery will provide a preview of the 2014 Georgia election to Executive Forum members and invited guests during a noon lunch presentation at the Capital City Club in downtown Atlanta and a 6:30 p.m. dinner presentation in the Presidents Dining Room inside the University Center on Mercer's Macon campus.

A native of Atlanta, Towery is a nationally syndicated columnist, author, political analyst, pollster and attorney. He has served as CEO of numerous companies, including, when sold, the largest sheet-fed commercial printing company in the Southeast. He also served in the Georgia House of Representatives and was the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Georgia in 1990 at age 30. He has worked as a strategist for national and statewide political campaigns, including as chairman of then-U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich's political organization in the late 1990s.

Towery has authored several books, including Powerchicks: How Women Will Dominate America, which was a No. 1 bestseller on Amazon.com. He has appeared on every major news network in America and on shows such as The O'Reilly Factor and Hard Ball with Chris Matthews. Since 1998, Towery has been a political analyst for the NBC, ABC, and most recently, the Fox affiliate in Atlanta. In 2011, he was a weekly guest commentator for CNN.

As CEO of InsiderAdvantage, he works as a pollster for many national news organizations, including Politico and Newsmax. His nationally syndicated column is based out of The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, and is syndicated by Creators Syndicate out of Los Angeles.

Towery is an AV Preeminent Rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and is Of Counsel with Hall Booth Smith in the firm's Atlanta office. He also heads up his family-owned LLLP, which keeps him actively involved in both the financial and real estate markets. He serves with emeritus status on numerous boards, including private and public universities.

Towery is a graduate of Cambridge University in England and Stetson University College of Law. He and his wife, Dolle, reside in Atlanta and Snell Isle, Florida. He has two adult children.
