When love meets in the heart of Macon, magic happens. I’ve curated a list of fun things to do in downtown Macon this Valentine’s season. There’s something for every budget, interest and group, from couples looking for a nice dinner spot to friends looking for a unique evening.
Valentine’s Trivia Night: Love meets nostalgia during Reboot Retrocade & Bar‘s sixth annual Valentine’s adult-themed trivia night on Feb. 9. It’s 18+ to play and totally free. Enjoy themed cocktails, a fun atmosphere and the chance to win prizes. Sign up by 8:30 p.m., and trivia starts at 9 p.m.
Multi-Course Dinners: Philosophie Wine Bar has two enchanting events on the calendar. Stop by on Feb. 9 or 10 for the Galentine’s wine and tapas dinner, a three-course meal paired perfectly with hand-selected wine. Additionally, on Valentine’s Day, indulge in a luxurious six-course meal with wine pairing. These experiences are $100 each, and can be purchased on Philosophie’s website.
Hotel Forty Five Dinner Specials: Treat yourself this Valentine’s Day to a special dining experience at Loom in Hotel Forty Five. From Feb. 9-14, indulge in special dinner offerings, including a mixed green salad with strawberries, pecans and goat cheese; surf and turf; lobster ravioli; and a decadent strawberry cheesecake.
Valentine’s Market: Celebrate love at Fall Line Brewing Co‘s Valentine’s Market from 1-5 p.m. Feb. 11. Immerse yourself in the charm of local vendors, offering everything from sweet treats to unique gifts. Those of age may enjoy beer, wine and specialty cocktails at the bar. Complete your event passport for a chance to win a gift basket.
Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra Valentine’s Package: Savor a symphony of love with the Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra’s Valentine’s Package. For $60, enjoy two tickets to the Feb. 12 concert at the Grand Opera House, two drinks and two commemorative Grand Opera House tumblers — a savings of over $30! Mercer alumnus and renowned international composer Keitaro Harada will be the guest conductor for the concert. Get your tickets here.
Heart-Shaped Pizza: Experience love in every bite with heart-shaped pizza from Fatty’s. Dine in or take it to Coleman Hill for a romantic downtown Macon picnic on Valentine’s Day. Elevate the experience with zero-proof champagne or rosé from Rabbit Hole. Love is in the air, and it tastes delicious!
Sip and Paint Party: Unleash your creativity at Daquiri’s and More‘s Valentine’s Day Sip and Paint Party from 7-10 p.m. Feb. 14. It’s $25 to participate and includes one free glass of wine along with all your art supplies. A DJ will be playing to set the mood.
An Un-Valentine’s Bash: For those dancing to a different beat, head to The Brick for Love Drunk: An Un-Valentine’s Bash on Feb. 14. The event offers an anti-love route with a twist. Those of drinking age may enjoy an un-Valentine’s cocktail list, dance to DJ HELLO’s breakup anthems and more. Cap off the night by breaking a giant heart piñata at 11 p.m.
Couples Mixology Class: Learn a new skill with your partner at a mixology class from The Monkey’s Paw Tiki Lounge. Hosted on Valentine’s Day in its new location on First Street, beneath Pearl, this limited-space class promises an evening of cocktail crafting for those ages 21 and up. Call (478) 200-1406 for details and treat yourself to a delightful dinner at Pearl afterward.
Lights and Love Songs: Skip the Valentine’s Day rush, and celebrate with this free event the day after the holiday. Lights and Love Songs, hosted by Visit Macon, features a live performance by Sam Stephens from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 15 on High Street. There also will be architectural tours of the homes in that area of Intown.
