ATLANTA – Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University recognized 12 outstanding graduating students during its traditional Pinning Ceremony. The event was held in conjunction with the 2007 spring commencement held in May.
Two students received the college’s highest honor, the Davison-McKie-Newton Award, which recognizes excellence in scholarship, leadership, patient care and the spirit and science of nursing. Dana Elizabeth Coleman of Kennesaw, Ga., received the award for the Generic BSN Program.
The second award recipient was Diane Nelson of Dacula, Ga., for the RN-BSN program. Ms. Nelson also received the Pi Gamma Outstanding Scholar Award in the RN-BSN Program and the RN-BSN Legacy Award.
Another of the college’s top honors went to Anna Q. Nguyen of Marietta, Ga., who was presented the Nursing Student of the Year Award.
