MACON, Ga. — Mercer University will hold its 16th annual Breakthroughs in Engagement, Arts and Research (BEAR) Day on April 21 on the Macon campus to showcase outstanding student research and special projects from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Business, College of Education, College of Health Professions and School of Engineering.
BEAR Day will feature contributions from more than 300 students, including 160 poster presentations, 40 general paper presentations and 20 special symposia. The presentation categories include arts, humanities and language; athletics and education; engineering and material sciences; mathematics, computer science and computational science; physical and natural sciences; and business and social sciences.
Event co-chairs Dr. Erin McClenathan, associate professor of art history, and Dr. Kerry Strickland, assistant professor of chemistry, said this is the first time all BEAR Day events will occur on the same day, and they hope this encourages attendees to engage with multiple events to learn and “celebrate the great works of Mercer students.”
