Mercer University returns to Five Star Stadium for the second week in a row as the No. 15-ranked Bears take on the Presbyterian Blue Hose at 6 p.m. Sept. 5. Here are three things to know before you go.
Mercer leads series wins against Presbyterian

Mercer has captured 11 of the previous 17 meetings with Presbyterian in a series that goes back to 1927. The squads have locked horns in Macon 11 times across that span, as well as once at a neutral site. The Bears will be looking to avenge their 15-10 loss to the Blue Hose in last year’s home opener. History is on Mercer’s side. Presbyterian hasn’t strung together consecutive wins in the series since the 1939 and 1940 seasons.
Demun Jones to headline Ford Football Concert Series

Pre-game festivities start at 10 a.m. on Black Field, culminating at 4 p.m. with a performance by Jones County native and country-rap phenom Demon Jones as part of the free Ford Football Concert Series. The music starts at 3 p.m. as Dani Rucker, a cinematic, folk-leaning artist, warms up the crowd as the opener. Leading up to the show, fans can enjoy the Fall Line beer garden and Dr Pepper Fansville featuring inflatables for the kids. At 3:45 p.m., join us for the Bear Walk as the football team, band and cheerleaders make their way to Five Star Stadium. Gates open at 5 p.m.
It’s 478 Day

The Bears are celebrating the Middle Georgia community this week with 478 Day. For this game only, Mercer fans can get football tickets in the upper sections of 204-206 for just $4.78. To get this deal, go to mercerbears.tixr.com, select seats in those sections and use promo code BIBB478 at check out. All other seats are regularly priced.
