ATLANTA/MACON – Mercer University’s Center for Executive Education recently announced three new programs open to the public designed to increase specific skills in the workplace.

“Due to a strong demand for continuous process improvement training, this spring we have been busy providing three Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certificate Programs and two Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Programs,” said Jeff Wolfe, director of the Center for Executive Education. “Because of this continued interest, we are excited to announce that we have plans for two more Yellow Belts and one more Green Belt program during summer and fall 2021.”

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certificate

The Center for Executive Education will host a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certificate program on July 22 or Aug. 12, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., on the University’s Cecil B. Day Campus in Atlanta or online synchronously via Zoom.

The program, led by Dr. Myriam Quispe-Agnoli, associate professor of economics at Mercer, and Dr. Eric Kushins, assistant professor of management at Berry College, provides entry-level certification for individuals interested in understanding the Lean Six Sigma managerial approach and developing a process improvement toolkit. No prior training or knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or statistics is required to take this course.

Registration fees cover program materials, eight hours of instruction, breakfast, lunch and refreshments during the program, parking and a Mercer certificate of completion.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate

The Center for Executive Education will host a four-day Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate program on Oct. 7, Oct. 21, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day, at the University’s Henry County Regional Academic Center.

Dr. Kushins and Dr. Quispe-Agnoli will lead training in soft skills, methodological rigor and quantitative tools of Lean Six Sigma while also coaching participants on the development, implementation, evaluation and presentation of a lean project.

Registration fees cover program materials, 24 hours of instruction, six-plus meals and refreshments, parking, and a Mercer certificate of completion.

RADICAL Strategy Execution

The Center for Executive Education will host eight sessions on “RADICAL Strategy Execution” on June 3, 10, 24 and July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day, online synchronously via Zoom.

The workshops will be led by Aspen Business Group CEO Russell Disberger, an expert in organizational assessment, strategy, performance management, decision support and process management, and Kelsey Couture, organizational psychologist and associate consultant at Aspen Business Group.

The sessions are intended to prepare professionals to expertly adapt to dynamically changing business environments.

Registration fees cover program materials, 20 hours of instruction, an individual coaching session and a Mercer certificate of completion. Additionally, individual sessions may be purchased for $175 per person. Special pricing is available for current Mercer students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as groups of three or more from the same organization.

The Center for Executive Education, housed in Mercer’s School of Business, aims to help organizations meet the need for practical and useful knowledge that facilitates critical thinking by maximizing human capital through innovative and state-of-the-art programs. The Center offers a portfolio of customized corporate and open enrollment certificate programs that have been developed by the most forward-thinking minds in academia and the industry.

The Center is planning additional programming for the summer and fall, including a four-course FinTech program for August-November, a Business Valuation Analysis certification program from Sept. 27-Oct. 2, two more Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certificate programs and one more Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program from July-November. 

Also in development for the second half of 2021 are a Diversity, Equity and Inclusive (DEI) Leadership program, Project Management prep course, Python training and an Executive Coaching program.
