Distinguished University Professor of Christian Ethics Dr. David Gushee Launches New Podcast

Dr. David Gushee

ATLANTA – The Rev. Dr. David P. Gushee, Distinguished University Professor of Christian Ethics and director of the Center for Theology and Public Life (CTPL) at Mercer University, recently launched a new podcast.

The Kingdom Ethics Podcast” is a new project of the CTPL intended to make Christian ethics and questions of morality, public theology and leadership accessible to a popular audience.

Widely regarded as one of the world’s leading Christian ethicists, Dr. Gushee is the author, co-author, editor or co-editor of 22 books and approximately 150 book chapters, journal articles and reviews. He is president of the American Academy of Religion and immediate past president of the Society of Christian Ethics.

Dr. Gushee, along with co-host Jeremy Hall, an Atlanta-area pastor and researcher/media coordinator at CTPL, present these podcasts as short-form discussions lasting 20 to 30 minutes each.

Currently in its first season, the podcast is focusing on the “Great Moral Leaders” being featured in Dr. Gushee’s upcoming 23rd book, Moral Leadership for a Divided Age: Fourteen People Who Dared to Change the World, which will be available Oct. 16. Joined each week by Dr. Gushee’s co-author, Colin Holtz, these discussions seek to tell the stories of these leaders afresh, to unpack their legacies and to consider leadership lessons from their lives.

Moving forward, the podcast will focus on introducing listeners to the Gushee/Stassen methodology of Christian ethics and apply this framework to important issues of the day.

The podcast is currently available on iTunes, Stitcher, and SoundCloud.
