ATLANTA/MACON – Mercer University will continue the 2015-2016 Executive Forum, presented by BB&T, with presentations in Atlanta and Macon by Robert Guest, foreign editor of The Economist, on March 10.

Guest will speak about his experiences covering international affairs around the world to Executive Forum members and invited guests during a noon lunch presentation at the Capital City Club in downtown Atlanta and a 6:30 p.m. dinner presentation on Mercer's Macon campus.

“For over 20 years, I have been assigning and recommending The Economist to business school students as one of the most accessible sources of global business news,” said Dr. Susan P. Gilbert, dean of Mercer's Stetson School of Business and Economics. “I am excited to welcome Mr. Guest, world-renowned business journalist and editor, to our business enrichment program.”

Guest brings a truly international perspective to the Executive Forum, having reported from nearly 70 countries and having lived in six. He travels constantly and frequently meets with CEOs and entrepreneurs from around the globe in all industries. A graduate of Oxford University in England, he is fluent in English, French and Japanese.

As The Economist's foreign editor, Guest oversees global coverage for one of the world's most influential journals. Previously, he was the U.S. and business editor for the London-based publication. He wrote its Lexington column on American news and politics, and he covered Africa for seven years while based in London and Johannesburg.

Before joining The Economist, Guest served as the Tokyo correspondent for London's Daily Telegraph and was a freelance writer based in South Korea.

He is the author of two books: Borderless Economics: Chinese Sea Turtles, Indian Fridges and the New Fruits of Global Capitalism, which explains how interconnection through migration and trade is making the world more prosperous and peaceful, and The Shackled Continent: Power, Corruption and African Lives, which addresses the continent's problems with war, AIDS and poverty.

The Executive Forum is a membership organization composed of businesses, organizations and individuals. The 2015-2016 forum concludes with a presentation by Griff Lynch, incoming executive director of Georgia Ports Authority, on April 28.

Executive Forum events are by invitation only to members. For more information on membership, call (800) 837-2911 or (478) 301-4169, or visit forum.mercer.edu/membership.
