Anna Peerbolte

Anna Peerbolte is graduating from Mercer University‘s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice and Spanish.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan on moving back to Duluth and serving in law enforcement. I will begin working as a dispatcher, then I will go to police academy to become a police officer. I will also be adopting a puppy!

Who was your favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor was Dr. Clara Mengolini. I loved that students were encouraged to express themselves creatively in her class. She is also such a sweet and encouraging person, and I loved getting to know her during my Spanish classes.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

My advice for incoming students is to enjoy every moment you have as a college student. College flies by, so as you study for a degree, don’t forget to intentionally pursue friendships and fun experiences. Surround yourself with people who care about you and push you to become the best version of yourself.

How did Mercer prepare you for your future?

Mercer has equipped me with an education that will aid me as I continue to pursue lifelong learning. Mercer is very service-oriented, and I will continue to keep that mindset of serving others as I enter law enforcement to serve my community.

What makes Mercer special to you?

I grew up in the same house my entire life. My family never moved, so I grew up with a mostly unchanging group of people. Moving on campus and uprooting my life was a major change, but I loved getting to know a new place and an entirely new group of people. Mercer has become my second home, and it houses my second family (aka my friends).
