Joshua Hynds is graduating from Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in computer science.

What are your plans after graduation?

Working full time as a developer at Altec in Birmingham, Alabama.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Dr. Andy Digh, professor of computer science, is my favorite professor. He has been an amazing mentor, a wonderful professor and a dutiful servant of Mercer.

What was your favorite class and why?

My favorite class was probably CSC 245: Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis. This was a challenging class, but it helped provide me with some of the very foundational knowledge that is needed for a career in computer science.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

My biggest advice is to try things. Even if you don’t think you should like it, college is a great place to explore and try new things to see what you like. You might surprise yourself!

What makes Mercer special to you?

Mercer is special to me for so many reasons. The campus is beautiful, the people are absolutely incredible and the memories are priceless!
