Khanh Nguyen Tran Ngan

Khanh Nguyen Tran Ngan, a 2020 graduate of Mercer University‘s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business, earned a Master of Business Administration in marketing.

What are your plans after graduation?

After my graduation, I am continuing my current full-time job as brand executive and will work at Georgia Tech Research Institute as a temporary project operator. Moreover, I’m working on my Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Dr. Etienne Musonera gave me clear guidelines and instructions so that I was able to be promoted to brand executive. Before being assigned a new position, I had a presentation about my marketing plan for the upcoming fiscal year. Thanks to his lectures and instructions, I analyzed my presentation and followed his advice. Fortunately, the plan was accepted and I got a promotion!

Dr. Laura Morrow is my favorite professor as well. She has strong knowledge of project management. When we had a “Choose Your Own Adventure” project, she instructed us how to plan our projects step by step. Moreover, in order to make our presentation more interesting, she advised us to open our presentation in different ways. After this project, I decided to learn more about professional project management. Dr. Morrow is a great adviser.

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

My favorite memory is my group project for my team dynamic class. Our team had a chance to create a game called “Choose Your Own Adventure.” This game allowed the participants to learn how to build an effective team. We made a clip; we did voice dubbing; we learned how to connect with professionals to develop our content. That was an amazing project.

How did Mercer prepare you for your future?

Throughout the M.B.A. program at Mercer, we had so many projects. Those projects helped to build my passion and desire for being a project manager.

What makes Mercer special to you?

When I first moved to Georgia, I sought a school to pursue my master’s. Mercer offers so many different programs that were flexible for a work-study student like me. During my program, professors always gave clear instructions and guidelines, which helped me keep up with my classmates and school work. Furthermore, Mercer created the friendly environment where I know that I will be supported whenever I need. To me, Mercer is my second family. I have great professors and awesome friends. Thank you, Go Bears!
