Kinleigh King recently graduated from Mercer University’s College of Health Professions with a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology.

What are your plans after graduation?

Attending the Medical University of South Carolina for my Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor at Mercer is Dr. Heather Webb. When I transferred from another college, she welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. Her support meant so much during that transition, and even though I’m graduating, I know she’s only a phone call away. That kind of genuine care is what makes her so special.

How do you plan on changing the world?

I plan on changing the world by becoming a physical therapist who helps people regain their strength, confidence and independence. Now that I’ve been accepted into PT school, I’m one step closer to making that impact — one patient at a time.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

My advice for incoming students is to embrace every opportunity to learn, grow and connect. College is as much about discovering who you are as it is about academics. Get involved, make lasting friendships, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. The journey may be challenging, but it’s also full of rewards if you stay open-minded and stay true to yourself.

What makes Mercer special to you?

Mercer is special to me because it’s a place where I’ve grown — not just academically but personally and professionally. The supportive community, close-knit campus and strong sense of school pride have shaped who I am. Being a Mercer Bear has taught me resilience, leadership and the value of serving others — things I’ll carry with me into my future as a physical therapist.
