Madeline Albritton

Madeline Albritton, a 2020 graduate of Mercer University‘s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting.

What are your plans after graduation?

This summer, I will begin at Auburn University as a candidate for its Master of Accountancy program on a full scholarship and work as a graduate assistant for the Athletics Department.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Professor Stephanie Morris is my favorite professor! She shows genuine interest in her students’ success. I would not have been as successful without her guidance.

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

My favorite memory at Mercer was being a member of Homecoming court. I wish every student had the chance to walk the field at a Mercer football game. I am beyond honored to have had the opportunity!

What advice do you have for incoming students?

My best advice for incoming students is to be reliable. College students can easily get a bad reputation by not following through with their commitments. Get involved, but don’t over commit yourself. This allows you to become the best leader possible.

What makes Mercer special to you?

I have wanted to go to Mercer my entire life. My father graduated here in ’79, so I grew up hearing stories about his days at Mercer. As a young girl, I would tell my parents that I was going to be a Bear too. Mercer has been a bonding topic for us my entire life and even more so over the past four years.
