Morgan Simmons, a Class of 2023 graduate of Mercer University‘s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, earned a Bachelor of Arts in international affairs.

What are your plans after graduation?

I will be attending Mercer University School of Law.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Dr. Eimad Houry, professor and director of international affairs, has been my favorite professor. He is knowledgeable, involved and makes even the most difficult classes fun.

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

My favorite Mercer memory was being involved on campus with Mercer football, the International Affairs Newsletter, Model Arab League and Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

What was your favorite class and why?

I loved the Great Books program because it was an opportunity to get to know students in the same year as me and discuss real-world issues in the context of historical authors. I also loved that I had input in adding more female and POC (people of color) authors to the canon.

How did Mercer prepare you for your future?

Mercer challenged me all four years while also providing a support system throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and in my classes. I’ve learned so much about myself, others and the world!
