Pariss Nicholson graduated from Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans are to become a sports reporter.
Who was your favorite professor and why?
Debbie Blankenship and Evey Wilson were my absolute favorites. They really helped me prepare for my career and were always on standby if we ever needed help on assignments!
What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?
My favorite memory was seeing Rodney Atkins live (during the Mercer Football Ford Concert Series) on Family Weekend my freshman year!
What was your favorite class and why?
Documentary with Evey Wilson. Those classes taught me a lot about the journalism industry and helped me learn about significant skills that employers look out for. That, and the assignments were challenging but fun! I love Evey and will always remember how kind and supportive she is.
How do you plan on changing the world?
I want to tell stories about people that deserve to be heard, including athletes. Whether it’s their breakout story or a triumph they accomplished, I would love to be the one to tell them for many others to hear.
