Sierra Hathaway is graduating from Mercer University‘s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to attend University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to pursue my doctorate in biomedical sciences.

What is one of your favorite Mercer memories?

One of my favorite memories is attending midnight breakfast during finals week.

What was your favorite class and why?

My favorite class was bioinformatics with Dr. Amy Wiles. It was my favorite because I really learned so much, and it is very applicable to my career.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

My best advice for incoming students would be to say yes to your friends. That’s how you will make the lifelong memories.

How did Mercer prepare you for your future?

Through the opportunities of undergraduate research, Mercer really prepared me for my future in research. Plus, Mercer has given me ample opportunities to present, making me comfortable with presentations now.
