Tending a garden has many benefits, such as boosting your mood and relieving stress, but for college students who live in residence halls or apartment complexes, having a large outdoor garden may not be possible.

One solution is container gardening. With container gardening, your pot can be as little or big as you like, and plant options range from herbs to flowers to small trees.

In this episode of How Do You Do That?, Dr. Heather Bowman Cutway, a biology professor in Mercer University‘s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, offers tips on how to plant a container garden.

How Do You Do That? is a series in which Mercer faculty and staff share helpful tips and tricks to get you through life.
