It takes a lot of people to make Mercer University the institution that it is. The students have and always will be the lifeblood of our University, but Mercer wouldn’t be Mercer without expert faculty members to pass on their knowledge and highly-skilled staff members to manage day-to-day operations. Our “Worker Bears” series highlights the Mercer employees who work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to care for our University and our students.

Meet Lateka Addy

Title: On-site specialist for Ricoh Mail and Document Services for Mercer on the Macon campus

How long she’s worked for Mercer: Five years

What she does: Addy said she wears many hats in her role. In the Mail and Document Services location in the University Center, she processes and sorts mail, gets items to the Post Office, hands out packages and items to Mercer students, and assists customers with their mail needs.

What she loves most about her work: Addy said a lot of the students who were just starting at Mercer when she began her job have now graduated. “Watching them go from freshmen to being adults and graduating, that’s the most special thing.”
