Mercer men’s golfer Tobias Jonsson won the individual championship at the International Golf Federation World Amateur Team Championship held Aug. 31-Sept. 2 in Paris.

Jonsson birdied the final hole of his last round to win the title. He shot a 17-under par 269 over the Le Golf National Course in Paris, which was the site of the 2018 Ryder Cup. Highlighting his tournament, was a third round 64.

The Bears’ junior finished one shot ahead of Japan’s Taiga Semikawa for the individual title. He topped a field of 216 golfers.
