Mercer University to Welcome Prospective Piano Students for Piano Day Feb. 15

Mercer's Townsend School of Music would like to welcome all prospective piano students grades 8th-12th, teachers and parents to discover the piano at Mercer University.

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

• Master Class with renowned pianist Ann Schein

(There is limited space for this class, so all Piano Day registrants must submit an MP3 to be considered. Please email a sample of your music in MP3 format to LeighAnn in the School of Music office. 

• Lunch will be provided

• Attend seminars on Piano Technique and Organ

• Take a tour of Mercer University's beautiful campus

MEET THE FACULTY

Come and meet Mercer's outstanding piano faculty and learn first hand about a unique curriculum for piano students. “Piano Day” will give prospective students the opportunity to perform in master classes, attend seminars, and have private lessons (Limited numbers).

The Townsend School of Music is nationally recognized for its outstanding faculty, award-winning students, performance ensembles and state-of-the-art facilities. The Townsend School of Music is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

ALL-STEINWAY SCHOOL

With the establishment of the Joan Stockstill Godsey Center for Keyboard Studies in 2014, the Townsend School of Music will exclusively feature Steinway & Sons pianos for all teaching, rehearsals, and performances. This includes three concert Grands in the recital hall.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to the outstanding artist faculty, the Center for Keyboard Studies also hosts an annual concert series featuring major national and international keyboard artists.

In addition, these featured artists will conduct Master Classes which gives Mercer's piano students the chance to perform for, and be instructed by, the guest artists.

DISCOVER TOWNSEND

The new Joan Stockstill Godsey Center for Keyboard Studies joins the McDuffie Center for Strings, and the Townsend-McAfee Institute for Graduate Church Music Studies as signature programs of the Townsend School of Music.
