It takes a lot of people to make Mercer University the institution that it is. The students have and always will be the lifeblood of our University, but Mercer wouldn’t be Mercer without expert faculty members to pass on their knowledge and highly-skilled staff members to manage day-to-day operations. Our “Worker Bears” series highlights the Mercer employees who work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to care for our University and our students.

Meet Tangela Mitchell-Ross

Title: Coordinator of Student Affairs Services on the Atlanta campus

How long she’s worked at Mercer: 12 years

What she does: Mitchell-Ross monitors, creates and assesses the Atlanta Housing and Residence Life processes for residential students. She also works closely with Physical Plant and National in maintaining the University Apartment facilities.

What she loves most about her work: “What I love most is being able to provide an environment of inclusion, acceptance and meeting students where they are. Although the demographics of the Atlanta campus are primarily graduate and professional students, their needs mirror those on the Macon campus. Some supportive resources are needed and shared on both campuses. It’s gratifying to see students matriculate and succeed.”
