Renowned Architect Stephen Valentine to Give NEH Lectures

WHO:       Stephen Valentine, visionary architect for the Timeship, a six-acre life extension research and cryopreservation facility.

WHAT:     Valentine will give two National Endowment for the Humanities lectures titled “The Poetics of Polarity: Architecture of Human Celebration and Mourning” and “The Timeship Project: Design of the World’s Largest Life Extension and Cryobiological Research Center.” The events are free and open to the public.

WHEN:      “The Poetics of Polarity, ” 7:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27

                   “The Timeship Project,” 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28

WHERE:    Willingham Hall, Mercer’s Macon campus, 1400 Coleman Ave.

WHY:          Valentine is renowned for his work on major architectural projects such as the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Long Island Rail Road Train Station in New York City, and the Timeship Project. In his pair of lectures, Valentine will address his experience in designing architecture in conjunction with universal human emotions and symbols.
